Navigation Images 01 (Excel)

Just the other day in office, we were finalizing an interactive workbook that had links to and from different sheets. Moreover, not only it had linking in the same workbook there were links to some outside pages as well. When the time came to insert images, enabling users to click for navigating, it was a bit tedious. Not wanting the simple images that we had in Excel, I started browsing the internet to find something suitable. But after a bit of searching I was stuck with options that were not synchronizing with my workbook theme. Then it hit me. Why shouldn’t I make my own images/buttons in Excel? Using Shapes option in the Insert Menu, I combined different forms of shapes to make images.
The template file can be downloaded from below. The images that it has are “E-Mail” and “Home”. The images are grouped together and they can be edited by ungrouping them. Please again note that the file was created using Microsoft Excel 2007, it might not be compatible with earlier versions.
Before ending this post, there is something I would like to tell. Most of the work we do in our office is done by using Excel. So many of the posts in this blog are going to be Excel based.
